Already one of the most active corporate venture investors in energy, General Electric is taking it up a notch by teaming up with ConocoPhillips and NRG Energy to deploy $300 million in clean-tech and other energy-tech companies over the next four years. Also, OrthoSensor Inc., which is bringing consumer electronics such as accelerometers and advanced sensors to the world of implantable orthopedic devices, has raised a $21 million Series C… LinkedIn has acquired CardMunch, a company that enables users to digitize pesky paper business cards… and On Deck Capital has nabbed $15 million on the wings of strong revenue growth for the provider of small-business loans.
